Group Consultations:

  • Consists of ten 1-hour Group Consultation sessions with four participants in each group. These Group Consultation sessions provide an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of EMDR Therapy and learn how to integrate the 8-Phase 3-Pronged approach of EMDR Therapy into their existing practices. Participants will be required to present and discuss cases, and discuss training material during Group Consultations. The times and dates of each group are determined during at the beginning of the training. Each one-hour group is approximately two weeks apart, starting about two weeks after Part 1 and continues after Part 2 for continued support. Typically, five consultations are done in between Part 1 and Part 2. After Part 2 is completed five additional consulting sessions are required.
  • Each consultee is expected to spend 15 minutes presenting and discussing. Usually there are four participants per group. Each meeting is an hour. If there is a need for 6-consultees then the group will meet for 90 minutes. 15 minutes per consultee)
  • The Group Consultation sessions are held during regular business hours (9 am to 5pm EST) during the weekdays (Mondays to Fridays).
  • The times and dates of each group are determined during the first weekend of training, each session approximately two weeks apart, starting about two weeks after Part 1 is complete. For 5-day intensive, consultations will also start approximately two weeks after the training.
  • Participants will be required to present and discuss cases, and discuss training material during Group Consultations. If you do not have access to clients, you should not take this training.
  • The required 10 consultations must be complete in order to receive the certificate of completion of the 50-hour basic training.
  • Groups Consultations are either conducted via video chat, teleconferencing, or phone. More information will be provided by the assigned EMDRIA Approved Consultant or an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in-training during the training.
  • Participants must attend the entirety of all assigned Group Consultation sessions.
  • These consultations are scheduled and included in the training tuition. If, however, the trainee misses sessions they will have to make the meeting up at their own expense. The range of this fee varies from consultant to consultant ($80.00 to $150.00).
  • The trainee will not receive their certificate until all financial responsibilities have been met.
  • EMDR Trainers, and EMDRIA Approved Consultants will be provided by EMDR Educators of Florida. All EMDR Training sessions and Group Consultation hours must be conducted through EMDR Educators of Florida, and all training requirements must be completed as a package as scheduled.
